No more pricey gift bags!

I decided to quit buying the expensive gift bags this year. Each gift bag can cost up to $4 and the tissue is usually $2-3, costing $7 a present. I think it’s ridiculous to spend that much just on the presentation of the gift. Here’s how I’ve saved myself tons of money and helped save the environment by doing these two simple things.

1. Reuse gift bags. I have a stash of gift bags and tissue that I’ve received with my gifts. I save the ones in good condition and recycle them when I have a present to wrap.

2. Give reusable bags. If I do buy a gift bag now, I buy a reusable shopping bag for $1-2, which is much cheaper than the traditional gift bags. There are some really cute reusable bags in the stores. The bonus is that by wrapping the presents in the reusable bag the recipient is getting another gift from me. I know I would love to get a reusable bag as a present.

Join me on cutting costs and eliminating waste by not buying any more pricey gift bags and tissue paper.
