My Review:
I received a review copy of MBA in a Book: Fundamental Principles of Business, Sales, and Leadership by Leslie Pockell and Adrienne Avila and was prepared for some heavy reading. I actually do have an MBA and I was expecting this book to discuss accounting, marketing, finances and statistics in detail. When I opened the book I was a bit surprised. There were NO budget sheets, NO marketing plans, NO financial formulas and best of all NO regression analysis.

Instead, this is a book of quotes from entrepreneurs, executives, philosophers, statesmen and scholars throughout history. There are quotes from Donald Trump, Shakespeare, Eisenhower, Napolean and even the Bible.

I would not say this book even begins to cover the amount of information included in an MBA program, but it is a nice addition to the curriculum. We did not learn lessons from leaders, but mostly concepts. This book is great for anyone and is an inspirational and easy read. If you enjoy quotes or business you will love this book!

Free Children's Books to Review!

I've been a member of Harper Collin's First Look program for adults for almost six months now and love reading all the advanced copies of books. I recently found out they also have a First Look book review program for children's books. You register here and request which books you or your kids would like to review. Currently there are six different books you can request to review. They will randomly select people who applied to review the books.

What does a review entail? Really all you need to do is write a few sentences (not a book report) with your thoughts about the book. They may ask a few multiple choice questions about the look of the cover or if you would recommend the book to a friend. All my reviews have taken less than 10 minutes to complete. It is a really easy and fun way to get some new books for free and before anyone else can even buy them! Also, your review might even get published!

Does your child love trains? Here is a great resource to build your own paper trains and train accessories. The instructions are in Japanese, but the cut outs are fairly self explanatory. There are 4 train scenes you can make. Just click on the pictures to download and print here. Do you shop at Old Navy? You can click around on this website and find coupons for your next Old Navy purchase. There are a limited amount of each coupon and the site is updated weekly. They have anything from 5% off a purchase to $75 off a $100 purchase. (I'd love to find that one!)
I clicked around today and found the 5% and 10% off coupon and it was only valid through 3/5/2009. I've heard that the coupons are updated sometime on Thursdays. I am definitely going to keep checking back today to try and find the high value coupons before they are all gone.
