Free Pie at Village Inn!

Village Inn's Pie Rush Wednesdays starts this Wednesday, June 24 at participating Village Inn's. Every diner gets a FREE piece of fruit pie of your choice with any purchase. You can get a free piece of pie even if just order a cup of coffee or soda. This promotion would make a great cheap date night with coffee and dessert!

There is no posted end date for this promotion and my local VI representative said Pie Rush Wednesdays will probably continue for a few months. Here is a list of non-participating restaurants, but I would still call if there are multiple Village Inns in your city. Nielsen homescan is a unique research opportunity that rewards you with electronics, equipment, jewelry, household items, toys, and much more. You are also entered in regular high value sweepstakes.

How does it work? Nielsen sends you a hand-held scanner and every time you shop you scan the barcodes of the items you purchased. Once a week, you send in your purchase information. My review:
This is a quick, easy to follow read derived from material in Maxwell's previously published book, 'Thinking for a Change'. Maxwell characterizes thinking into eleven distinct types. He discusses the benefits and how to embrace each type of thinking in an outline format. Some of the eleven thinking types he unveils include focused, creative and possibility, among others. I really enjoyed the chapter on practicing unselfish thinking. It was very insightful and eye opening.

This book is compact and would be perfect for slipping in your purse or car to read while waiting in line or when you have a few extra moments. I recommend reading only a chapter at a time, reviewing the highlighted points and taking time to absorb the content. If you enjoy self-help and leadership books, 'How Successful People Think' is for you.

I graduated!

I want to share my exciting news. This is a picture of me in my cap and gown ready for my graduation tomorrow from Bellevue University. I will be receiveing my MBA (Master's of Business Administration) degree with a concentration in Marketing.

The question I get alot is 'What will you do now that you have this degree?' Currently, I am a stay at home mom and will continue being at home for at least another two to three years. I am always open to entrepreneurial ventures, like this blog, and may even go back to school for a web design degree. We shall see if I can handle another year of school. For now, I am happy to be finally finished with this venture in my life. Thanks for letting me share.

CVS to open in Omaha summer 2010!

Finally, CVS is opening their first store in the Omaha area. According to the Omaha World Herald, the new store will be located at the northwest corner of 144th St and Maple Rd and will open summer 2010. This is super exciting news for me! When the new CVS opens I will have to follow their sales too.
