Free Garage Sale Site!

I just came across this site and wanted to share it. I am a huge garage sale fan and I know finding them can sometimes be difficult. You can find and list garage sales for free online at gslar.com.

I browsed the site and found several listings in my area. The sales show up on a map and you can even plan your garage sale trip online. Using the trip planner, just select the sales you want to hit and then print out the directions. Very helpful for those of us still without GPS. I will be using this in addition to my local paper, which also has a good listing of garage sales.

Robert's Dairy offers a free online cookbook with over 1,250 recipes that was originally published in 1974. There are lots of great recipes and cooking tips. Wild about Omaha July 24-25 - Free Zoo admission and more!

This event is over.
Wild about Omaha is this weekend! I mentioned this event last month, but wanted to post again because this is such an amazing opportunity to experience Omaha for FREE!

Friday, July 24 from 5-11 pm head to downtown Omaha to visit one of the many arts and entertainment venues. Some places will even provide free food and drink. Make sure to stop by the "family zone" on 20th street between 5-9pm for a huge variety of fun acitivities. We are excited to be able to visit the Omaha Children's Museum and the Sesame Street special exhibit for free! Full schedule of Friday events here.

Saturday, July 25 you can visit the Henry Doorly zoo for free from 9am-4pm. Admission for a family of 4 is normally almost $40, so this is a great deal. The zoo is a must see if you visit Omaha! Make sure to also pick up a free voucher at your local HyVee to see a Royals game and fireworks free that night. More information here.

My Review:
'$20 per Gallon' is a fascinating book about the future of high gas prices. I was amazed at how much our lives depend on cheap gas. Some changes he predicts will be welcome changes, such as more energy efficient cars and a return to U.S. based manufacturing. However, ridiculously high airline tickets and the disappearance of sushi here were not so appealing as gas prices increase.

This book was definitely eye-opening with lots of predictions, backed with statistics and studies. It is a very relevant topic for the 21st century and a must read.

I was initially reluctant to request this book, because I didn't know if it would be interesting enough to read the entire book for a review. I am very glad I read this book because it was educational and enjoyable. I highly recommend '$20 per Gallon' and am pleased I will be able to share with book with my readers.
