My Review:
'There's More to Life Than the Corner Office' is not a typical business book and reads more like a novel. I read the short 130 page book in one sitting. Right from the beginning, I was captivated by the main character whose life is very out of balance and the older CEO who unexpectedly takes him under his wing.

The lessons in this story are told as a narrative between the two characters in a compelling and simple storyline. A major theme and lesson of the book is to balance all aspects of your life: business, emotional, financial, spiritual, romantic and physical. 'There's More to Life Than the Corner Office' is also a reminder to think outside the box and be alert to opportunities in unexpected places.

There was not much depth to this book, as far as business books are concerned, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I would recommend this book to anyone. Even if you don't typically read business books, 'There's More to Life Than the Corner Office' is worth reading because it is engaging and interesting with lessons that can be universally applied.

Smooshies Review!

One thing I really like about being a blogger is that companies occasionally send me products free to review. Recently, One2One Network sent me a Smooshie doll for my three year old daughter.

Smooshies are little dolls that have detachable parts, so the kids can use their creativity to create a character. They are sold exclusively at Joann craft store.

When the Smooshie arrived my daughter begged me to open it and let her play with it. Once I did she sat down for about 1/2 hour and attached all the pieces to the body. She soon got bored with the doll and the next day decided to use the couch instead to attach the pieces. She played with the Smooshie for a few days, but now it sits lonely in a corner untouched for several weeks.

It's a neat toy, but I think it might be more entertaining for kids older than my daughter. She, unfortunately, lost interest in it quickly.

My Review:
I received the e-book, The Essential Guide to Mystery Shopping, from the author, PamInCa for review. I have been a mystery shopper for one company, Corporate Research International, for almost two years and have enjoyed my experience with them. I was astonished when I read this book to find out how many legitimate mystery shopping companies there are. I've always been leery about signing up for new companies because I want to ensure they are legit.

The Essential Guide to Mystery Shopping outlines the top companies and details how they operate. There is also a huge list of more than 300 mystery shopping companies in the index. For me, this list was the best resource of this book. After reading this book, I feel empowered and ready to begin mystery shopping for several more mystery shopping companies that I am confident are legitimate.

This guide starts with the absolute basics for mystery shopping and is great for beginners as well as experienced shoppers. If you've never mystery shopped before this is an excellent book to get you started. It's a quick read and has useful information that will ensure success in mystery shopping.

The Essential Guide to Mystery Shopping really opened my eyes to the mystery shopping opportunities available to me. I'm excited to sign up for some more companies listed in this book and earn extra income and free products. I would recommend this book for anyone who is interested in mystery shopping.

Rock of Ages Review

Thanks to One2One Network, I received a copy of Rock of Ages to review. I remember jamming out to many of these classic tunes in high school. It was hard to hear these rock classics redone by other artists on this album and the dialogue in some of the songs was really distracting from the music. However, I really liked Constantin Maroulis from American Idol and was happy to hear his voice on the CD.
